What are 3D Printed Orthotics?

3D printed orthotics represent the next generation in clinical foot care. Unlike traditional “subtraction” methods—where an insert is carved out of a block of material—3D printing is an “additive” process.

Using high-resolution digital scans of your feet and specialized CAD program, our technician creates a digital blueprint. A specialized 3D printer then builds your orthotic layer-by-layer using high-performance thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) material. This allows for a level of customization and structural complexity that was impossible with old-fashioned foam molds or hand-carved plastic.

Why 3D Printing Matters (The Benefits)

  • More correction possibilities: besides the very needed heel and arch support, corrections for bunions, toe issues, forefoot pain spots and lose of forefoot curves can be address through modifying the forefoot shape —all within a single piece of material.
  • Unmatched Precision: Digital scanning captures every contour of your foot with sub-millimeter accuracy, eliminating the “human error” often found in plaster casting.
  • Sustainability & Durability: Our high-performance thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is capable to withstand millions of steps without losing their supportive properties.
  • Fast Turnaround: the streamlined process of assessment + design + printing + fitting allows you to have your custom orthotics within 48 hours counting down from you entering our clinic.
